Q. I'm at the end of the module but I don't see the Save and Close button. What should I do?
We have found that Internet Explorer 11 does not save a user's progress when viewing Distance Training Modules, which may cause the '˜Save and Close' button not to appear.

If using Internet Explorer please advise the user to:
- Log out of MyNAEP and open Google Chrome. Reassure them that their progress will be saved.
- Next launch Google Chrome
- Re-open the module to return to the last screen they were on. The 'Save and Close' button should appear.
- Click 'Save & Close' to receive credit for completing the module.
Note: Google Chrome and Safari are the recommended browsers for Distance Training purposes. Also, if not using NAEP-issued equipment, Pre-Training Tasks must be completed first on personal device before starting Distance Training modules. The Microsoft Edge browser should not be used on NAEP-issued equipment but may function normally on personal devices.
If using Google Chrome:
- Make sure Field Staff is using NAEP-issued equipment. If not, they will need to complete the Pre-Training Tasks on their personal device first before starting Distance Training modules.
- Confirm that the user has reached the final screen of the module. If a right page arrow appears on the screen then the user has not reached the end.
- Next, make sure that the module is not hidden behind any other windows.

Note: Help Desk Agents can perform a remote session to help Field Staff locate the module if necessary.
- If the user has reached the end and the Save and Close button is not there, escalate the issue to Tier 2 Distance Training and follow up.
** Use Escalate to Tier 2 - Distance Training macro before assigning to Tier 2**
